Last day of the year 2024 and we have activity in Arab football with the semifinals of the Gulf Cup, a biennial soccer tournament that confronts the national teams of the Arab countries located in the Persian Gulf area and has been played since the beginning of the 70s.In this 26th edition of the Gulf Nations Cup, officially known as Khaleeji Zain 26 for sponsorship reasons, is being held in Kuwait and today will have a match with the host team looking for a place in the final of this event against the team from Bahrain.






How is the Bahrain national team coming into this match?

The Bahrain National Team has already had a lot of activity throughout the year 2024 between friendly and qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup, where they must step on the gas if they want to qualify.

Bahrain's record in the last six months of this year was three defeats (China, Japan, Yemen), three draws (Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Australia) and three victories (Australia, Saudi Arabia and Iraq). The Asian team comes into this match after a 2-1 defeat in matchday 3 of this tournament against Yemen. However, Bahrain finished first in Group B with only 6 points after 2 wins and only one loss.




Kuwait, Dec. 31 (BNA): Bahrain's national football team will face Kuwait today in the semi-finals of the Arabian Gulf Cup (Khaleeji Zain 26).

 

The match is scheduled for 8:45 pm at Jaber Al Ahmad International Stadium.

 

After topping Group B with six points, Bahrain aims to secure a spot in the final. The team achieved notable victories over Saudi Arabia and Iraq in the group stage, with a loss to Yemen that did not affect their qualification.

 

Kuwait secured second place in Group A with five points, earning their position through one win and two draws, without any losses.
